Tree Cathedral

Introduction

The Tree Cathedral was designed by Neil Higson in 1986. He was inspired by Gothic Castles and the Garden Cities Movement.  

Features: 

• Uses a variety of different trees for different parts of the cathedral e.g. cherry and apple trees for the chapel 
• It is inspired by a wedding style layout e.g. an aisle and arch all made from trees 
• It uses a symmetrical tree layout; each sides mirrors the other

• English oak 
• Cherry 
• Giant redwood 
• Ash 
• Apple  
• Yew 

Natural event space

IF: Milton Keynes International Festival have held a number of events at the Tree Cathedral, as it is a unique and open space with stage like qualities.
